Ghost from the past

I feel awful.

Today was actually a very good day. Flight load was light so it was easy. I had a passenger who showered praise on my crew and airline. I came back and had fabulous dinner with Julia and my sis. I received good news that my friend (Chin Shi) is now an aunt. I received news that a cousin (Eugene) in Aussie is coming back to Singapore to work. I was also told a cousin is getting registered to his long-time girlfriend (that's Julian and Sarah!).

Then there was this email in my mailbox.
Apparently I did something dreadful many years back without knowing it, and it apparently scarred someone for life. It wasn't dreadful like killing his dog or vandalizing his bike. It was something so innocent that as kids playing we probably don't even realize it. For the life of me I cannot remember that incident but today the sender told me that as a result of that episode, I'm now blamed for an outcome of what it is today, which if true, is going to haunt me for the rest of my life.
I've been asked to keep the contents of the email a secret.
And I don't think I can ever talk about it. What if it's true. I'd rather nobody knew about it.

who is.... yd-na?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH no mood to work tomorrow.
Roster from now till end of July will wear me out.

Meanwhile, I think I've got my future figured out.
Except that it might not be workable.

July 4th - Bonus my bank account awaits thee. It looks pathetic now.
My current statement reads that I debited $17,000 in the last 28 days. And that's on top of the amount which I had already set aside nicely for my new bag. FML!

Hahaha

England is gonna lose to Germany because an octopus says so.

Glad to be back...
Received a bad news in my mailbox from a friend. Will pray for a friend's father, and will visit the family later.

There is also a piece of good news in my mailbox but the sender also said he wants to test how good I am at keeping secrets so to prove that I'm very good at it (tell me your secrets!!) I'm not even going to give any clues about it here until the time has come.
Sorry, can't share the good news!

Meanwhile, Chanel's prices went up up up yesterday. Apparently fights broke out at the boutique too, and I can only imagine why.
I was at 3 Chanel boutiques 2 days before the increase (and we didn't know about the increase then) and a girl friend got her bag but my pilot friend didn't get the two bags he wanted (my girl friend took the last one). At the same time, many tourists (mostly from Mainland China) also walked in to enquire about those same bags.
Now you know I'm serious when I mentioned 2 weeks ago that stocks are low and I had to beg for my bag.
Supply cannot meet demand at all.

Every store will tell you the same thing - new stocks will arrive the next day but it was impossible to tell which bags were coming in.

The next day (the day before our departure) my dear pilot friend went to Rue Cambon and they told him they had nil stock. He tried the store at Rue St. Honore and they had just the bags he wanted. He bought them without hesitation. He must have bought one of the last pieces in the whole of Paris.

It turns out that the day we departed was also the day the prices increased. I didn't know it until two hours ago when my passengers told me. The forums on the internet have confirmed the rumours are true. My bag apparently went up by €440 €540, and that's so NOT funny. Whoever who said I was crazy to get my bag is crazy not to have gotten the bag then!

p/s: Three of my colleagues bought Hermes this trip. One of them bought a Lindy! So pretty!!!! I love the Lindy. I don't think I can ever justify the €3900 price tag though.

I'm done with WC10

WTH?
France and Italy don't reach the knock-out rounds... France and Italy, both last year's finalists, are bottom of their respective groups.
And baseball-playing USA topped their group, ahead of England?
And the freaking vuvuzelas make the games so hard to watch, you practically have to mute your tv to sit through a game.
I'm done with this World Cup.

Evil is the card

I think I mentioned that I did not want to change money for this trip so I came with only €120 right?

There's always a way to go around that problem by CREDIT CARDs. sigh.

This weekend I'll be going back to BP again for my paternal grandma's birthday lunch. I don't see her much, maybe like once a month or something like that.
My cousins in UK kept asking me how she's been because my aunt told them that she's very thin and hardly eats now. That was like 2 months ago. When my cousins told me that, it still didn't occur to me that my grandmother was any thinner than before.
In fact, I even saw her 2 more times after that and she looked the same to me.

It was last weekend that, when we went out for dinner, my grandmother was dressed in her nicer clothes (rather than the baggy ones she always wears in the house) and I realized that she has lost so much weight!!! She's just skin and bones now.
It shocked me so much that I had to tell her she's lost a lot of weight. She however laughed it off. Sheesh.

What have I done?

OMG.
Met up with a pilot friend who went shopping today with another pilot.... and they told me the prices of the Jaeger LeCoultre they saw and I wanna bitchslap myself for getting my watch too soon!
WHAT DID I DO?!

I could've bought a JLC, I could've, I could've!
I didn't believe him and he brought me past a Wempe boutique and my heart just dropped on the five-foot way.

19 degrees Celcius

Lovely morning in Paris. Gonna be a beautiful sunny day today. I need to sleep now.
I need to go get a Longchamp bag for my batchgirl at Galleries LaFayette later. After that I hope to do some sight-seeing.

I'm seriously annoyed that the people here go on strike as and when they like! The last time I was here more than a year ago, there was a strike too - and like this time, it was on my only clear day. I had planned to go to the Palace of Versailles tomorrow, about 20 km out of Paris. However it looks like I may have to do something else now since most modes of public transport will be unavailable.

I did not change any Euros for this trip! I'm using my remaining €120 from my Milan flight two weeks ago to survive in Paris for two days. Food and small shopping. Let's see if I'll last.
On my way to creating a personal record :)

Super Mario Beatbox

This is wicked!!
Again, only for those who played Super Mario in their childhood.

This beatboxer actually included sound-effects for stages like going into the green tunnel, getting the coins and even the effect of just going to the next stage (where the money tallies up). I found it hilarious!
And isn't he just awesome?

Denmark vs. Cameroon

I am tired, but I can't sleep. It must be the jet-lag.

I'm refreshing my Google livescore page on Denmark vs. Cameroon as the game is playing now. I'm following the game because Anshii and I made a bet. I'm taking Denmark and she Cameroon.
At stake are two 'soon kuehs' from Bengawan Solo.
-__-

While I'm keeping track of the score, I also went through 300 looks and I picked out my favourite two!

For this first look, I like the soft colours. Yes I prefer softer to stronger colours any day. I have this weakness for harem pants right now. The shoes look fab and of course I'm biased also because of the bag. The coffer in mughetto! Sure winner. (I have a coffer and another bag in mughetto... both are the loves of my life!)

Look 2 scored definitely because of the dress by Roland Mouret. In reality I wouldn't buy that Tory Burch clutch. Tory Burch is so big in the US and I don't understand why! It's logo is ugly but people seem to want to flash their Torys about in the States. Don't even get me started on those ballerinas with a huge-ass Tory Burch logo on the front. Sorry, not a fan. Anyway back to the look. That gorgeous dress with a contrasting yellow clutch to go with that pair of Louboutin stilletos - definitely will stop traffic even in NYC.

YES! And Denmark just equalized... that's one 'soon kueh' on her side and another on mine.

Just like in a B movie

Mother of...

These are pictures from a raid of a Mexican drug lord's house. I always thought those 80's movies exaggerated the part where you have piles of cash lying around but uh uh I was wrong.
The wads of cash were all in 100-dollar denomination.
After counting (I wonder how long that took them?) the cash totaled US$205 million. :-O

And check out those pistols with solid gold, man...

The house

Money was found in every nook and cranny.

More hidden cash.

That does not make the shooting any less sinful that it is.

A pool at the back of the house.

And he has his own 'zoo' in the backyard with only the
most exotic animals. Here is a very rare tiger.

He's got 7 lions. Just how big is this place!?

And that was the fate of the house.

Im trying to make sense

I had a cocktail at Empire Casino and I got so mad high. Yet still trying to blog here I hope I will make sense to you.

Sales started in London today. Mad mad sales. Things were going at half price from cheap stuff to high-end stuff. I've only been into Selfridges once before this and I usually don't see the point of shopping there because whatever I might need from there I'll get from Italy/France for obvious reasons. Tax returns better, better price too. But today I decided to walk in - I don't even know why - and that was when I realized that the entire Oxford Street is on sale. It had to be. Because the designer goods were going at half price!!!
I ended up getting a Loewe wallet. Oh I tell you how I wish I could get a bag for myself too. Anyway the wallet is a gift and I'm not keeping it for myself.
Tomorrow morning I leave London. I must say I have done very well this trip. I barely spent on myself this trip. Barely.

Even with the sales and all I got so bored. I was so bored I texted my cousins that I was taking a slow slow walk from Oxford Street to Leceister Square, taking a few photos along the way.
By the time I arrived at Leceister Square, one of my cousins had also just arrived home from work. I never believed this could happen but ohgodddd Oxford Street, even with all its sales today, was boring.
And as I walked towards Leceister Square in boredom I concluded that I'm so happy with what I have that whatever else are in the shops don't entice me anymore.

ohmy im like in nirvana.

p/s: while I was waiting in line to get my tax returns form, there were two monks with like SEVEN Selfridges bags. While I was in the handbags dept. too there were other monks there looking at Marc Jacobs, YSL, etc. Women's bags ok. Doesn't it make you wonder...............

p/s/s: I got so high from just one glass of cocktail that my cousin thought I was drugged. I'm also pro anti-drink driving now. Hell I can't even walk perfectly straight, how can I possibly drive!! Say no to drink driving!!

Perfect Day

What a perfect day.

I'm up for 34 hours now.

When I arrived at the hotel at 8 a.m., I stayed up for the boutique to open. I had to call Emma at the Old Bond Street branch to check if they managed to receive the bag I want. At 10.10 a.m., I phoned Emma and to my disappointment she told me that they didn't have one in store. She asked for my number and I told her I don't remember my own UK number but I will email her immediately.

I used our old email thread to email her my phone number and she called me back 10 minutes later and told me that she didn't realize that that was me on the phone. She said my bag had arrived yesterday and she had already set it aside for me. I was suppose to sleep first and then go down to OBS in the afternoon with my colleague but I could not wait so I dashed down to town immediately.

While I was on my way there, my cousin asked if I wanted to have lunch together. I was more than glad to!

After I managed to exchange the bag and got rid of that good for nothing lambskin bag - hallelujah - I went down to Liverpool Street to wait for my cousin.
By the time we finished lunch and I got back to the hotel, it was time for me to give my colleague a wake up call. 2 hours later I was at the dining table again for a full meal.
DUCK RICE THIS TIME!
Woohooo bestest duck rice in the world - from a person who doesn't like duck meat. Trust me it is that good.
Note: If you didn't have duck rice in London, you haven't been to London!

We took a slow walk down to High Street Kensington by cutting through Kensington Gardens.
It was such a beautiful late afternoon. It was like a perfect afternoon in the park and there were many people who were there doing their own things.
Some just slept on the grass. Couples were chatting quietly on the benches. Hot ladies and men were running down the lanes. Moms were there with their children running free. Dogs were running all over the place. Kids feeding bread to the swans in the pond. It was purrrrrrfect (ya huh, not a cat in sight oh how i love thee londoners).

Ya ya, but you know right it is really only truly perfect because I managed to change my bag (much too stressful... because every store in Europe keeps telling me there's no stock!) and there's nothing left for me to be uncontented about, and I even got store credit and got a pair of earrings! And stillll I have balance credit! What more could I have asked for :)

p/s: don't say I didn't warn you. Chanel prices will increase by between 25-30% in July. I heard from 3 separate sources (one said 25%, another 27% and the third said 30%... different dates in July were given too but you get the idea - it's no small hike).

내 인생은 완벽해

Nothing to complain about my life right now.
It's pretty close to perfection and I'm not being a narcissist!

Family (except dad) was here over the weekend. I have practically everything I want now - only to get my bag changed in London but if I don't what the heck the world is still pretty perfect - and yes I have the best of everything :)

Today I bought a big gift for myself to mark a milestone in my life next month.
It is very costly and I had several less expensive options - other brands, cheaper versions, less elaborate, etc. - but mum gave the same old advice: buy the one you like or live to regret the decision. Especially since it's my first, I had to get one with a legacy.
So I got the best for myself and I know I can sleep well tonight.
The money spent can be earned back in the coming months but the satisfaction from owning this AND knowing that I can afford to buy this for myself is priceless.

Sure I don't have a sugar daddy but I'm perfectly capable of supporting my own lifestyle and do not need a man to pay for my expenses. I know that if I want something, I don't have to drop hints every other day hoping that wooden block will get the hint.
I know many of you reading my blog are also capable of supporting your own spending which is why I'm glad also because you are no money-sucking machine. (I despise girls who do that, and yes I will show you that I despise you even if you're a friend.)

I must start a goal for my savings now. Reaching the goal's my plan for the next 12 months!

Evry.friggin.time!

Every freaking time I clean the house I hurt myself.

I don't clean the house often so I get even more pissed off when each time I do it I cause harm to myself.

Today I dropped a pail with water on my right big toe.
The last time I cleaned the house (when Anshii was moving in) I cut my palm with a blade.
The other time before that I cleaned the house I cut my big left toe with a glass shrapnel.

I wish I could say, "I'm so done with housework!"
I haven't made it rich yet so no maids for now. FML.

Got lucky

The customs officer eyed us with suspicion when we said, "Back from Milan, nothing to declare."

Thank goodness he didn't open our bags!

On another note, I went through an experience today on flight that was heartbreaking. I can't reveal much here, but I want to tell you all that when you are on holiday, take good care of yourself.
If you have to cross from boat to boat, say no. If you realllllly have to, be extremely careful and make sure you always have people to support you.
Don't hurt yourself because flying back on a stretcher is no joke.

Back in Singapore. First thing I saw when I arrived at my block was my neighbour's wake. The old aunty passed away so suddenly on Monday night. She died of liver cancer that was detected 4 months ago. :(

Back in Singapore. No more cute guys SO DAMN SAD! I saw the last of those on my flight but once the aircraft door opened, it's like the hot air took all of them away too.
Chin Zwen and I were so distracted by all the cute guys when we were shopping in Milan. Too cute! It was summer and they were all out with their shades (aviators only) and bermudas and shirts. ohmannnn.

Mum and Lynn are going to be here today. A few things on the agenda but it all involves spending money pfffft.
Then it's off to London where AGAIN I'll have to keep my wallet closely guarded because my cousin and I are planning a trip to Bicester Village. Maybe I should drop off at Stonehenge instead.

The World Cup is here again.
It was during the last World Cup (quarter-finals I believe) that I met someone.
4 years later, we aren't even on talking terms. How much things have changed since.
*melancholic*

Uh oh UGG

Justin Bieber apparently said this: "Not even Beyonce could change my hate for Ugg Boots. They are just so ugly!"

That's it. UGG's gonna see a massive fall in sales in the next 12 months due to non-fashion and -climate related reasons, leaving the CFO wondering what happened.

p/s: I never fancied UGGs too.
p/s/s: I'm not a Belieber thanks.

Ta-da

Like finally!! AH!
I literally developed a headache over it, no kidding.
You should have seen me beg and beg and beeeggggggg (that's when my headache started) the store assistant for this bag, which is actually reserved for someone else. Had to go back to the boutique thrice in 2 days... Even the security guy changed his greeting for me from "Welcome" to "Welcome back."

(And I know that bitch of an assistant complained about me to the cashier!)

But I don't care about that now :)

I would so deep fry it

This piece reads just like an April Fools joke.

I'll be waiting for BBC to announce, "Gotcha!" in the coming days.

Almost

My life is very close to perfection right now. Very close.
Was just going through photos in my camera, going through some recent memories... and I'm probably the happiest I've been in a while.

Just one more thing.

Tomorrow will be the day, fingers crossed.

Damn you BP

If any of you read about BP in the latest issue of Newsweek (June 7 issue) you'd know BP tries to buy its way into the US government, have dodgy work ethics and have a suspect track record.

It's time oil companies start taking a more conscientious effort into safety and most of all, protecting the environment.

These pictures made me sick in the stomach and is enough to make me want to boycott BP for the rest of my life!

Once in the water, the wings of these birds get contaminated with the muck and they are unable to fly anymore. Many of the birds choke to death in the muck and thus far they've already picked up 400 dead birds in the coast off Louisiana. Unfortunately for many more, that will also be their fate.

Cruise collections

The last time I was in Milan was 6 months back. Looking back at my damage, why wasn't the Euro this rate then?

I love it when I get to go into every boutique and then look at all the bags and shoes, making everything else that pops up at net-a-porter.com or Nordstrom.com and bag blogs look passè.
6 months later, I'm looking forward to seeing all the new bags, especially those from the Cruise collections. Big hats!, colourful scarves!, espadrilles!

Anyways, I just saw Gucci's Cruise Collection 2010 online and I already know which boutique I'm gonna skip in Milan.

On a separate note, I face a dilemma now: The Euro was about €1 to S$2.2 for a long time. When it dropped to sub-2, I changed €1000 thinking I was getting a damn good deal. That was when troubles in Greece started to arise and the Greeks were just starting with the riots. Who knew the trouble ran so deep that when it dropped to about €1 to S$1.92 I changed another €500.
I have something in mind to buy which costs quite a bit so might as well change a lot right? (I wanted to carry cash with me because I'm holding on to Malaysian credit cards and MYR-SGD rate sucks.) Then it slid to 1.85 then 1.82 then 1.78 and that was when I changed another €200 again.
The rate is now 1.69 and all I can think of is FML.
How much did I lose in that freaking exchange rate when I changed a thousand euros!!!
I could go to Milan tomorrow and buy what I have to buy with my credit card but there are also whispers going about on the inevitable demise of the Euro...
What if one day I wake up and find all that Euros I'm keeping have become as valuable as my toilet paper???
Can't decide if I should use my credit card or pay up the cash which I've already set aside.
:(

Aojiru

I bought this in Japan out of curiosity. I have just finished the first sachet and I must say it tastes awful!

It is a vegetable drink made from Kale.

Kale is the cabbage family that most effective green leafy vegetable. It contains fiber, foliate, potassium, Vitamin A, C, U and K. It is the highest volume of Natural Plant Fiber product. 1 stick contains 120 grams of kale leaves. Just mix with Juice or water, one or two stick a day is recommendable.

I saw this only after I had my first and I promise to never drink it with just water ever again!!
It tastes disgusting, even worse than most herbal drinks I've had.

And wth is vitamin U anyway.
I did science in uni but I've never heard of a vitamin U. The last in the sequence of vitamin letters stop at K.

I don't know if I'm suppose to notice any changes in my bowel movement or skin or other functions by drinking this. The back of the pack is filled with Japanese words and the only part that makes sense is 2011.01.21. Helluva sure that's the expiry date.
It's not cheap (and tastes disgusting) so hopefully it's some kind of miracle drink.

Auntie Parking FAIL!

Movida

I had too much fun in the last few days!

Spent the last 3 days catching up with friends and then spending time with my beloved Shirline and a half (that's Matt).
Joanne the pretty bride had so much to do and thank goodness she has E-Ling, the maid of honor, to help her out.
I think the three sisters work really well and they can really give the support to each other that is the envy of many others. The 3 of them can function like one - it's like having a double clone of yourself, how nice!

I've never witnessed a traditional Chinese wedding before and this is sort of my first even though I don't get to attend it, I got to see the preparations and it's MAD. MAD MAD MAD.
The craziest most ridiculous part is the part where you buy a million new clothings and makeup and bags (all branded/designer) to display them in the bridal room for your friends to drool over. This is to show that the girl is marrying into a wealthy family. Joanne hence spent tens of thousands on this alone - and we haven't included the wedding banquet of 1200 people and the renovations of the house, etc.

Last night also we partied in Movida, a new club in Damansara area. It's a damn good club with a good crowd, good bar food, great DJs (cute too!) and a fabulous manager. I literally was high without much alcohol because it was that fun. Luv partying with the Chia sisters ♥
Joanne had a 'Hot Bride' sash and wore a tiara and of course everyone's eyes turned when the entourage walked in. The highlight of the night was when we won RM500 from the club hahaha. All (well, almost) that we spent we got it back :P
And we sold condoms for RM50 each as one of the tasks that we had to complete before the night was over. Men are such suckers I tell you.

I went bridal gown shopping with Shirline. Her wedding is next year but she wants to take the gown back with her to Canada next week because there'll be a church wedding in Canada before she flies back for the reception in Malaysia.
I say, there are too many pretty gowns! Of course there are unpretty ones but it makes me wonder how does one choose the gown. It's as hard as choosing a husband...

My annual leave ends tomorrow. I'm glad it was a good break.

up next: MILAN!

And while I was away, Chin Zwen's bf proposed to her in Langkawi! I'm so glad that she's on my next flight... time to get the goss :)

p/s: WTF is wrong with some Chinese men. A few Chinese guys that we tried to sell the condoms to replied, "I don't use condoms." Thanks but you can say no thanks and spare us the information? Did none of the campaigning and education get to them? I hope they suffer multiple STDs! And there was this other guy, whom we also asked if he'd buy, asked us, "Why must you girls do such things..." And that spoilt Joanne's and almost everybody else's mood immediately. WTH we're having fun on a hen's night, prick. Don't wanna buy then don't buy. Don't lecture us like that wtfffff. An hour later, his hands were all over a half-naked dancer. Hypocrite!

Clean slate

Me: *staring blankly at the screen* What should I blog about?
Anlynn: Blog about me!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok the weather today's freaking hot. I'm having a writer's block so hopefully something good happens soon.

OH YEAH, the Isrealis are crazy. What happened to "Love thy neighbour"?
