Doing what I do, I have come across good-looking young men (more often than not those who are still attracted to their own sex) who come on board with older partners (quite often, Caucasian) dressed in expensive clothing and donning expensive accessories. Boarding with an Hermes/Louis Vuitton shopping bag is almost necessary. They travel
only in Business Class.
I have also come across stories of colleagues who have older girlfriends. Actually I have met two such persons previously. Good-looking young men, again, dating women who are close to 40.
It's so easy to just brush these men off as boy toys.
Very recently, I flew with this very new crew whose shoes caught my attention in the briefing room.
LOUIS VUITTON LEATHER DRESS SHOES. TO WORK. He had to be crazy. During loading of meals, it's so easy to spill gravy over one's own shoes. Not only that, the guys brake and unbrake carts like a hundred times per flight. The break pedals can do some serious damage to the leather. I know because my own safety shoes have two very long and deep scratches caused by break pedals.
But the craziest thing is, this guy was only flying for the second week. Louis Vuitton shoes, really?
He has neatly plucked brows too.
I had already signed him off as gay until one colleague talked to him and found out that he has an almost 40 year-old girl friend who lives in Orchard.
I thought girls like older men.
From a girl's perspective, boys mature slower so we need someone older in order to be on the same level of maturity.
Women like men with a stable career, for a sense of security.
Some others, like me, just think older men are more attractive.
Why do men like older partners too?? What do men see in older women?
And it's so easy to categorize these men as boy toys (something I'm very inclined to do with our LV-dress shoes guy). Are they really just boy toys or is it something more than that?
Maybe, in contrary to popular believe, my market value is actually increasing with age as well uh huk uh huk.
