I found it in Osaka!

Three Hermes purchases in as many days. Pocket is hurting.
And I finally finally finally carried a brand new Birkin in an Hermes store. The colour was simply breathtaking.
¥1.28 million yen. Sigh.
So here's the truth: you can really really get Birkins in Japan.
Not just Birkin. Everything else.
They even had a few Kelly wallets on display and you definitely won't see that in Hermes elsewhere.

OMG. I was so excited. I was brought to a secret room to see the Birkin.
So excited that I don't even know how much I signed for my purchases.
I seriously have no idea how much I paid. :-S

Happy Sunday!

It was a beautiful Sunday.
:)

The high-tea dimsum buffet was so-so (Fullerton's might actually be better) but the ambience at Goodwood Park is probably better. Goodwood Park is gorgeous. Fullerton may be more majestic but Goodwood Park feels more cozy. I think it will make an absolutely enjoyable venue for breakfast. I'll definitely be there for breakfast one day.

The durian pastries from Goodwood Park are apparently legendary. We were given a durian pudding each during the buffet and it was mad awesome!!!! You can even see the stringy stuff that you see in the flesh of durians. I kept my fingers crossed the whole day that we do not burp in the stores that we were going to.

There is a flight of 20 or so steps to the main entrance of the hotel. It is covered with red carpet in the middle. As I was about to go down, I suddenly turned to Markus and said, "Carry me down."
He did and boy was it scary. I think for every step he took, I repeated, "Please don't drop me."
Anyone on Scotts Road who happened to look into Goodwood Park would have seen a poor guy struggling to carry an overweight girl who couldn't stop giggling down the stairs.

If only there was someone there to help capture that moment on camera!

Dim sum buffet

On my way now to have dim sum buffet at Goodwood Park.

I had a flight to the birth land of dim sum, and I had a little chat about it with a passenger. Mr. Passenger said dim sum in Singapore is just as good.

I came back very excited and told Markus about it. He told me that he will call me back shortly.
Turns out that he called Goodwood Park there and then to make reservations for today's dim sum buffet. According to him they have among the best dim sum in town.

Woke up this morning to go for the buffet when Jannet told me she prepared herbal chicken soup for me to have before I head out.
I feel so blessed.

The week in Singapore

This entire week I'll be in Singapore.
I was off on Monday and Tuesday, a course today, a turnaround tomorrow, off on Friday, a standby on Saturday, and off on Sunday. I believe Saturday's standby will not be activated for anything more than a turnaround.

Markus and I had a little date at the Botanic Gardens on Sunday right after I touched down in Singapore. That place is massive! And that explains partly (like 0.06%) why property prices in Bukit Timah is so expensive. With a green lung in their backyard, everyone in Singapore would like to have air as fresh as theirs too.

I was with him at MBS earlier to look at shoes. We so happened to be there when the water and light show came on. His conclusion: 'Budgeted.' Mine was: 'Wu liao. Pathetic.'
I mean, have they seen the musical fountain at Dubai Mall? The graphics were terrible and soooo uninspiring. It's a disgrace.

Tonight after my course, I will head down to Takashimaya to continue looking for that perfect pearl necklace for an aunt's birthday that is coming up. I saw a gorgeous one at MBS but I'm going to try Mikimoto at Takashimaya to see if they have a better selection.

Everything that's happened lately is making me eat my own words.... and I actually enjoy being in Singapore these days. >_<

VS ad in newspaper

Epic fail.

Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo....

It's been said that English is a crazy language and is actually very tough to master.

Here's another proof that it's crazy.

"Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo." is a grammatically valid sentence in the English language, used as an example of how homonyms and homophones can be used to create complicated linguistic constructs.

Time to mess with your English teacher's head.

When travelling is far too common these days

A special someone sent this to me when I was away.....
Bittersweet, that's what this is.

Time for a facelift?

My blog is slowly falling apart.
2 months ago I noticed the birdy's gone from the top... little yellow bird flew away :(

Now the Plazes app on the right hand side is not working too, because Plazes has decided to call it a day.

Plazes did a summary of my check-ins. Apparently I checked in more times in the day than I did at night.
Other summaries include this, but don't trust it too much. I gradually forgetted to check-in at the start of this year.
However, this also means I've been to London at least 15 times. Well done!

MIT students rock

Here's my all-time favourite game, Tetris, in XXXL size.

MIT students hacked the Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Science building to to create this larger than life size version of the classic game.
While the video quality is poor, that does not diminish its cool factor.

New phone cover

He has forever been complaining about my very (IMHO, cool) retro-looking cassette tape iPhone cover. So last weekend, he went to buy us both the same cover for our phones.
He gave mine to me today over dinner. Somehow mine didn't fit my phone so he took his out and swapped, and then it all fits nicely =)
Cheesy, but it's nice!

And I have a feeling he might be taking another drive to Batu Pahat soon.... like, this week.

Thank you, His Majesty

I received a little gift from a King on my flight yesterday.

Thank you :)

Restoring my phone from iCloud

My iPhone went cranky about 4 days ago. I couldn't access photos from the Photo app. It crashed everytime I tried to. Annoyed the hell out of me, because I could not attach photos on WhatsApp, I couldn't access or organize my photos and it just basically bugged the heck out of me.

Decided to do a restore via iCloud, and it's taking 4 hours -_-''
Already regretting that decision. I had backed up everything via iTunes and I'm now wondering if it would be a lot faster restoring my phone that way/

The weather in Zurich is crazy. It changes drastically almost every 45 minutes. Sunny clear skies to thunderstorm, repeat x100.

I can't wait to be back in Singapore already. Yeah so it may be hot, it may be humid, but I'd really rather be there right now.
Arriving on May 8th :)
Special day!

As she walks, her fats jiggle

I have not been to the gym in ages. In the last months, I have burned hundreds of dollars due to wasted membership.
I stay out so late these days when I'm not working that I can't drag myself out of bed for gym in the mornings, which is the only time I like to be at the gym.

As such, I'm getting flabbier, rounder and the lack of walking that I do these days in Singapore is not helping things. I should start using public transport again.

Now that I'm in Zurich, with possibly one of the best gyms at the hotel, I will go and burn a few hundred calories tomorrow morning... even though I will put the calories back on with a few cups of Mövenpick ice-cream.

The maid who fucked up

About a week and a half ago, my grandmother's maid ran away.
It was at night when she just left. Mum discovered the door and gate opened, with the house keys hanging on the door.
It was very complicated, how she came back and then ran away again although this time we never let her into the house. She "ran away" again, this time not from us but from the police.

Neighbours say she went away with the garbage collectors. WTF. Screwing up her own life because of this. I don't know the reason for her coming back. Maybe she was running away from her boyfriend(s), maybe she was running away from her pimp, maybe she was truly sorry.

Now she is on the run without a passport. GOOD.
The ones who are suffering are mum and my aunt who are taking turns to take care of my grandmother who is half-paralysed. Mum has barely time to step into her office because she is the only one with flexi-hours to look after grandma.

Then I discovered how the maid messed up my things in my house. She tore up a very sturdy Burberry paper bag - how the fuck? And other bags which were in that paper bag were strewn on the floor. Because nobody ever checks on the 3rd room on my house, no one noticed it until now.

The last maid brought man/men into the house, got herself pregnant and lied endlessly to cover up her wrongdoings.

Can't trust maids, man.
