Overheard in Chanel

Back in Chanel AGAIN (!!!) because of defective products. This time, pearls on my earring fell off T.T

While waiting, I heard one girl ask the price of a Classic Jumbo.

"Jumbo is 7250."

ARE U MAD?? My Chanel handbag days are truly over.

Terkepit

I don't like this feeling of being stuck in between two sides who want different things off each other. I can't please both sides, and neither party seems to want to give in.
Gah!

In other news, mum reported that there's big progress on the renovation of my house. The foundation to a secret passageway has been set and wiring is up next!

IS THIS 1812?!

"Car owners are the creators of wealth. Do you realise that they get exhausted sitting in their cars due to traffic jams and they reach office completely tired? It affects their efficiency. Do you want them to perform less?" asks the main petitioner BB Sharan.

.....

He says those who travel in their own cars are the decision-makers, therefore, they should get a priority over buses. He believes that bus users can wait because they are engaged in less important jobs.

The rest of the article, here

Am I fucking reading this right??? >:-O
This explains the problems that I encounter when I serve business class when certain kind of people travel with us!
In their heads, and the head of one man who made me cry in my first year, they probably think, "We are providers of your salary. Do you realise that it is exhausting to be flying your airline when I could have easily flown a private jet and not have to share a freaking I*****N NEWSPAPER with other imbeciles?"

Newspaper, because that was the reason why a passenger flared up and MADE ME CRY. I will forever remember him. FOREVER.
People like him, who can't differentiate between privilege and right, are probably behind petitions like this.
(Quick Fact: It was on a flight to this very city in the linked news piece that I encountered the horrid passenger.)

They forget they aren't the most powerful beings around.
Based on their beliefs, these people will reincarnate to repay the bad karma. Based on mine, they will never achieve nirvana and will be lost souls. Based on other religions, they will never arrive at Olympus, nor will they see the pearly gates.

Disgusted

Waiting at a bus-stop with three middle-aged women, one of them removed her slippers and swung her legs back and forth. She proceeded to scratch her foot.

And then it got me thinking, what if she is one of those who ends up holding the metal poles on the bus, and then I end up being the next person to hold on to it? So disgusting :-S

I think scratching one's foot is not exactly dirty or gross in the large scheme of things. There are worse possibilities.

I promise to try to always wash my hands after I get off a bus/MRT.

Jayden, Ayden, Hayden, and the likes

Spell it however you like. But the names Jayden, Hayden and whatever that rhymes with Ayden are way too popular.

About two or three Chinese New Years ago, an aunt commented during our reunion lunch that so many people she knows are naming their kids Jayden. And Hayden of course.

Personally, I know a friend's nephew who is Aden, a pen-friend's son who is Hayden, an ex-classmate's son who is Jayden, and then there are the crazy number of kids who come onboard with those same names!

Whenever we have children onboard, I take their names so that I can interact with them and also to communicate better with the parents. I can't possibly always go, "And what drink should I get for the child?" Wouldn't "What drink should I get for Jayden (for example?)" sound better?
So anyway the number of children who have names rhyming after Ayden is absolutely astonishing, with Jayden being the most popular. And may I add that these are almost always Singaporean (they may also be Malaysian) kids?

What happened to creativity? How many people shared the same name as you back in school? I can already foresee these kids having a nightmare at school when the name is being called at class. At the rate this is going, there would probably be at least 2 Jaydens in every class. And teachers won't be able to gossip amongst themselves about a certain Jayden without including the surname.

I am willing to bet that you reading this know of at least a Jayden/Hayden/Ayden.

I hate my new roster

For the first two weeks of November, I've to slog real hard for PEANUTS.
I just hope for extremely nice colleagues and passengers to help me through it.

Is it just me or do you also think there's going to be a documentary coming up on the Lance Armstrong doping saga?

And now, a last sleep before I head back to Singapore. Big weekend! Woot!

(When I wake up, Usada would have revealed the 1000-page report and evidence, and Lance Armstrong will become a nobody.)

I don't know how to pack my luggage zzzzz

It always happens on this flight - the day before I have to go home, I have problems packing my luggage. It's impossible!!!!
I have a tonne of rubbish/nonsense/actually pretty brilliant stuff from Japan's drugstore that you never knew you needed until you saw them.

My best find today is a "water deodorant". It comes in a 140 ml bottle and it's just like water in there. Say if you get sticky and stinky on a hot day (happens all the time to the most of us in the equator), just pour a little bit of that water over the skin, rub it over the surface of the skin, and voila! IT TURNS INTO POWDER! And it smells sweet like peaches and berries (choose from a range of fragrances).
And then there is Shiseido's Ag+ deodorant, supposedly gets rid of 'old-people smell'. Young people can use it nonetheless. It has silver or some properties of silver that takes away the smell. Again, said aerosol deodorant turns into powder in contact with skin.

6 bottles of milk tea (fat fat fat). 10 boxes of Lycee eye drops by ROHTO. And a zillion other stuff which might seem nonsensical but I swear they're useful. (Like Peach John undergarments. I don't even know why I have to buy so many of those every trip but they're just pretty awesome!)

And that's how I blew my budget for the trip once again.

B**

Today on my flight from LAX to NRT, I had two Japanese rockstars on the flight. As mentioned before, there are many celebrities on this particular route. The last time I did this flight, I had Linkin Park on board.

From NRT-LAX, I had a huge group of Japanese fans of this group travelling with us. They said they were attending a concert by this particular band over the weekend in LA. Such loyal and true fans! It was a big group of them. Coming back, which was a Monday flight, we had another big group of fans. In what is normally a heavily Indian-populated flight, today's flight was abnormally full of Japanese. My last NRT-LAX flight had 130 Special meals, today's was only 9. >.<
We were requested by the ground staff to keep the presence of the two rockstars a secret for fear that the fans might barge into their part of the cabin.
Judging by how fanatic Japanese fans can be, I have no doubt that they might do just that.

So I kaypoh went to have a look at who they were. I only caught sight of one... Alamak... So old okay. No interest at all.
I would say he is probably like what Bryan Adams is to the English music scene and what Wang Jie is to the Mando-pop.

And I'm so glad I've finally made it to Tokyo!!! It's almost the end of the flight, and this is the BEST part of the flight. NOMNOMNOM. Shop shop shop. I've plenty of eye-drops orders - I just hope the drugstore has enough supplies for me.

ps: I really love California. LAX is having some kind of renovation and the crew had to do a major detour just to get to the bus pick-up area. Along the way, strangers greeted us and even as I waited to cross the road, bus drivers slowed down to greet and say hello! The East-siders really need to learn how to chill like them.

Strangest clothing material yet

I went shopping for Anlynn right after touch down in LA (did not even take a shower! The things I do for her.....) and got her several pieces of warm clothing.

One particular cardigan that I got for her is very soft. I half-thought it might be cashmere. However it is from Forever 21 so how can it possibly be, right? When I came back to the hotel, I checked the clothe-label and it says 15% RABBIT HAIR.

Ummm......

I don't know how else to say this...

But he's just about the sweetest guy I know. And he makes me so, so happy.

He's not romantic but everything he does, I know he does it for me. And I've been having it no other way other than my way.
