All coming together now...

Bought two wardrobes yesterday, a sofa set, a dining set (wtf I never knew you get charged per chair), all the downlights and the dining table chandelier.
It's all $$$ and I'm really feeling the pinch.
No more shopping until my Tokyo trip!

The gate guy also came to confirm the fencing with me as I was quite fickle on the design I want. The gate is up, but the fencing hasn't been done yet. He's also coming to fix the grills for the bedroom windows this week.

Early tomorrow morning, the Majestec guys will go fix my doors and main windows with security mesh (no grills!! whee! except for the rooms, because there are too many windows in this house). It's been an incredibly long wait because the security doors and windows had to be made in Thailand.

When that's done, the electrician can come fix the lights, and the next time I go back I'll probably be buying another bed and wardrobe and $peak to the contractor about the kitchen cabinet$.

Think it through before you renovate your home. It can be pretty costly, especially in this part of the world where you spend a lot more just to buy safety and security.

The little things

I've stayed at this particular Marriott a few times now but it's the first time I noticed this on the mirror frame.
I wonder if this was originally commissioned for Renaissance, Marriott's sister hotel, instead....

Honestly?

Safety first. Service second. Stowing bags? Not in my training module.

If anything at all, if I feel like it, I can board passengers without a lifting a finger and you can't do anything about it.

 This happened to a colleague:

If this passenger said the same to me, I'll gladly tell him/her off in front of all the other passengers. Parents these days don't teach manners at home.

Baby again

Trust me when I say I thought a good deal before deciding to put this photo up.

I was literally dying when I took a nap at Markus' place after a very hectic few days. I comatosed and was barely aware that he had wrapped me up like an infant. He wrapped me left and right with his comforter and even tucked the bottom in....

I had a real good laugh when I woke up because I sure had difficulty getting out of that cocoon!

Leavng behind something for the world

Listening to old music on my iTunes this morning with the headphones.

Beautiful voices of Stephen Gately, Michael Jackson and others who have died too soon remind me that though they're gone, they've left something for us to remember them by for eternity.

PS: Heard on radio last night that Linda Ronstadt is battling Parkinson's, leaving her unable to sing again. :(

Invati

Sad fact of life - as we age, we lose hair.
But I've been having some pretty bad hair loss problems since young and it has gotten worse since I started flying.  It's a problem that all flight attendants have,  especially those with long hair. The long hours that we keep our hair tightly coiffed, and the lack of sleep, plus the dry cabin air, is all disaster for the hair and the scalp.

Hence I've decided to do something about this and started on scalp treatment. The treatment is EXPENSIVE. Seeing the results I've been getting with the Aveda system that I bought from my salon, I think I might forego the monthly treatment and just be really diligent with washing (and massaging), conditioning (and massaging) and applying tonic (and duh, massaging).

I'm using the Invati system from Aveda, which derives its name from the word ayurveda. It uses traditional herbal Indian remedies for its body-, skin- and hair-care products. Be assured then that it's all natural. I can't think of another race with more beautiful hair than the Indians so why not give this a try, right? It smells nothing like roses or lavender.  Instead it smells like turmeric and ginseng... this is where the hair cologne from Japan comes in handy!

I hope very soon, with Aveda, I'll have locks like Aishwarya Rai's. (It's perfectly ok to dream.)
