Ti Qing

Today the fiancée came with his entourage to put a formal proposal across for my hand in marriage.

Markus, as meticulous as always, carefully listed everything that was required of us in three pages and highlighting sections which were important such as what to return to the groom's side. This is mainly for the "Lap Cai" which will fall on the 6th of Jan 2017. It was printed in multiple copies and every copy was highlighted neatly.

Then came the issue of dowry, number of tables required for the two banquets, the number of boxes of cakes required for my relatives and friends, the number of hotel rooms required at Singapore.

It was all discussed over a really oily breakfast. -__-

Oh and mum's outfit almost clashed with mine.
Left is mine, right is hers.

Markus' Mei po (matchmaker) was so gentle! She is Aunty Sally. He also brought with him his fourth uncle. They came with a big bag of gifts that's for formality.

And when the negotiations ended, two red packets were given to my parents.
Apparently if negotiations this time fell through, one of the two has to be returned to the groom.

Here's what the groom brought with him:
Two boxes of assorted cakes, two boxes of chocolates, oranges and red packets.

And so that's the end of the first part of the journey to the Big Day!
