There's this "auntie" (not blood-related) who lives on the 8th floor who is the gossip queen of the block. She knows everything about everyone and he hates her.
So some time last week, Markus and his mother were waiting for the lift on the ground floor. When the lift stopped at the 8th floor, the infamous auntie was there. Markus' mom asked why did she press the up button if she's going down (since they know she's definitely not going to the 9th floor as that lift only takes them to two units on the 9th floor). The 8th floor auntie said she pressed for the up button to bring the lift up from ground floor. Markus' mom obviously told her she has been doing it wrong and told her if she wants to go down she needs to press the down button.
Then the 8th floor auntie later on went to complain to her neighbor that the woman on the 9th floor taught her the wrong thing. She said the 9th floor auntie doesn't know better and instead said that she's doing it wrong. Turns out that her neighbor, whom I guess has been doing it wrong all these while, also agreed with her.
Soon, she will be telling the whole world about this ignorant auntie on the 9th floor.

Ask the 8th floor auntie how come there isn't a "down" button on the ground floor then? If she is right, you'll need to call the lift down right? :p
Unless she thinks that the lift actually goes "home" to the basement while it's not at work?
You're absolutely right! Should there be a chance, Markus needs to educate her with those very words!
