Heong Peng and pineapple tarts

Arrived in Paris this morning with a little goody bag for the team of ground staff who arranged for my documents to be flown back to me. 

I had a hard time thinking of what would be best to give them. Food is the best choice because who doesn't like food?

Then I realized all our snack may just not be good enough for the French. Meat isn't allowed so Bak Kwa is out. 

I ended up buying them a tub of pineapple tarts, which I don't know if it's good, and a packet of Ipoh Heong Peng. I think they'll cringe the moment they bite into the maltose filling! Flaky like the croissant but the sticky maltose is definitely something new.
